According to this interview, Fireworks are writing, but they’re not sure what they’re going to do next.

We’re trying to figure out the release we want to do next. Whether we want to do an EP or something like that. As of now, there’s no set plans. But we have been writing. And we do have a little bit of time off between now and Warped Tour and we’re going to use that time to write. [..] We’ve kind of got to the point where we’ve established ourselves a little bit; have a decent fan base. We can’t over saturate ourselves by touring too much. And we are older now so we have to take other things into consideration. We have to weigh the pros and cons of doing certain tours and not doing certain…

Rust Belt Lights, Still Rings True and Maker are currently out on tour together, and we’re lucky enough to be sponsors! So, we caught up recently with Rust Belt Light’s vocalist, Zach, and asked him a few questions about life on the road.
FYPP: What do you guys do to keep yourselves occupied on long drives?
RBL: On past tours, we would mostly just stare at each other and try not to explode from boredom. But this time around we have a TV hooked up with a ps3 so now we stare at that instead. I’m a borderline smartphone addict so I mostly tweet, blog, Facebook, etc on behalf of the band to pass the time. Oh, that and get four loko’d.
FYPP: What has been your favourite city to play in so far and why?
RBL: This is very cliche but it’s impossible to pick one city that is hands down our favorite. Our favorite places to play are the places where our friends in other bands live. We stayed with the dudes from Legend Has It last night in Bangor, Maine. It’s seriously heartwarming to see dudes we’ve toured with in the past and just kick it with them like we’ve known each other forever.
FYPP: Who does most of the late night driving?
RBL: Cody K does most of the late night driving. He’s legitimately nocturnal at this point. It’s 4:55pm right now and he hasn’t woken up for the day yet. The dude is VERY good at driving through the night, even if it’s a 12 hour drive or something inhumane like that.
FYPP: What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you guys on tour? Not just this tour, any tour?
RBL: I’m sure something weirder than this has happened, but off of the top of my head, one story comes to mind. On tour with Take It Back and Boys No Good, we ended up at a casino in Detroit. None of us were doing particularly well, when all of a sudden, our guitar player Tom walks up to the roulette table. He had never played the game before. So it’s Tom and this empty shell of an older woman, together at the table. The woman placed her chips on like 25 different numbers across the entire board, while Tom put a solitary $20 chip on 17 black, essentially for the fuck of it. Sure enough, the little marble lands on 17 black. Lady loses several dollars, Tom wins $700 in one shot, having never played the game before. Hasn’t played since!
FYPP: What are you guys listening to in the van?
RBL: This tour, we’ve been listening to The Stereo State’s new full length, ‘Have All My Friends Gone Deaf?’ It’s extremely good. Also the usual Kid Dynamite, I Am The Avalanche, Living With Lions, and Death Cab. Always lots of Death Cab.
If you haven’t already, check out Rust Belt Lights on Facebook, or on their current tour.

FYPP Feature: Odd Jobs #3 by Eric Stone of Cloud City Syndicate
After a break for the holiday in the States, we’re back with another installment of ‘Odd Jobs’ by Cloud City Syndicate’s Eric Stone. Today we speak with Mike Monahan, drummer for Jacksonville, Florida’s We Still Dream. Mike gave us a hilarious description of his oddest job, so we figured we’d leave it in his own words. Let us know what you think!

This is Mike Monahan. Winter Wonderland was a funny fuckin’ job. Every winter they make my local amphitheater look like Santa’s back yard. They turn the stage into this big ice rink, they have a train ride, there is an elf village, like a 30 foot Xmas tree, a huge ice slide, and a few games. I would work a different attraction almost everyday. Sometimes I’d be a rink guard and tell kids to slow down or stop throwing ice. I wasn’t very good at ice skating so I’d be holding onto the wall telling the little bastards to slow the fuck down. My favorite  job there was the train conductor. I had to wear a conductor hat and a red bandana around my neck. It was just a lawnmower that looked like a train. I had to say “All aboard!” and ring a bell 2 times. The MILFs loved it. The outfit we had to wear was this elf vest that was red and green and had bells on it. It was so stupid looking, but I never seen so many MILFs in my life.
